Mahindra & Mahindra, a prominent name in the automotive industry, is gearing up for 2024 with the launch of two exciting electric SUVs. Let's look into what's there for enthusiasts in Mahindra lineup.
In the early months of 2024, the updated Mahindra XUV400 is set to make its grand entrance. Anticipate a comprehensive overhaul both inside and out. The cabin will undergo a significant facelift with a larger touchscreen infotainment system sporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Moreover, a new instrument console will be part of the revamped experience.
The objective is clear: to infuse a more premium feel and enrich the feature list, making it an appealing upgrade. While the aesthetics and features take center stage, there won’t be any alterations to the vehicle's performance. This refreshed version aims to maintain the impressive performance of its predecessor.
Pricing for the XUV400 ranges between Rs. 15.99 lakh and Rs. 19.19 lakh (ex-showroom). The EC and EL variants each come with distinct battery packs and charging capabilities. The EC trim flaunts a 34.5 kWh battery offering a claimed range of 375 km and a 3.2 kW charger. On the other hand, the EL variant houses a larger 39.4 kWh battery, boasting a range of 456 km and a 7.2 kW charging capability. Both variants are equipped with a 150 hp electric motor powering the front axle.
Compact & Competitive Mahindra XUV300 EV:
Midway through 2024, Mahindra plans to introduce the electric version of its XUV300 compact SUV. Positioned beneath the XUV400, this electric offering aims to rival entry-level models of other EVs like the Nexon EV.
Expect the XUV300 EV to surpass 350 km in claimed driving range, boasting a smaller 34.5 kWh battery pack akin to the XUV400. With similarities in range capabilities and shared features with its ICE sibling, the XUV300 EV will showcase a familiar interior and exterior design, aligning seamlessly with the XUV300 facelift launched earlier.
In essence, Mahindra's 2024 electric lineup promises not just a shift towards eco-friendliness but also a fusion of modernity, performance, and competitive pricing. With the XUV400’s refreshing makeover and the arrival of the compact yet capable XUV300 EV, Mahindra aims to captivate the electric vehicle market, offering choices for diverse consumer needs.
