Tata Motors is bringing back its legendary SUV Sierra by electrifying its powertrain, Tata Sierra is the first Indian made SUV which was launched in 1991 and discontinued in 2003. Now Tata motors is planning to reignite the love in the heart of people for this 3 door SUV. Sierra EV concept which was show cased in 2023 Auto expo was a premium and futuristic production ready car. The homegrown automaker has revealed that the Sierra EV would enter the production phase in 2025. There will be two more alternative powertrain options for the SUV: gasoline and diesel.
It would have been a great challenge for the automaker to design the new Sierra, since they have to garner the attention of future generation without harming the legacy. The previous Sierra had only three doors and wrap-around fixed rear windows. The new Sierra, however, is a standard five-door SUV with real rear doors, roll-down second-row windows, and a panoramic roof. Also the wraparound glass and broad B pillar is retained. The Tata Sierra's interior is roomy and comfortable, with high-end materials and cutting-edge technology.
A number of cutting-edge innovations are also included in the electric model, including a regenerative braking system, a fuel-efficient driving mode, and a charging time of 4 hours. The Tata Sierra's safety features include advanced airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold control, and a rearview camera.
