Ather 450X: The Most Advanced Electric Scooter on the Market - Latest News and Upgrades

Ather Energy, a Bengaluru-based EV manufacturer, announced several updates to its 450 lineup of electric scooters - at its Community Day event in Bengaluru. The Ather 450 lineup has been updated with software upgrades such as AtherStack 5.0 and new features, as well as four new colour options, a more comfortable seat, and an industry-first 5-year battery warranty with a performance guarantee. At the moment, the Ather 450 models are the most popular electric scooters on the market.

The software engine that drives 450 electric scooters has undergone the most significant upgrade with Atherstack 5.0. The 450X and 450 Plus scooters' dashboard displays get a redesigned user interface with Atherstack 5.0. With swipe controls, the interface for these devices is now easier to use.

Owners can now effortlessly change settings like brightness and turn off incoming call notifications with just one tap thanks to new ride animations for battery usage and consumption in various modes. Additionally, the new Quick View section, which can be accessed with a swipe, offers a consolidated spot for dashboard notifications and significant data, such tire pressure.

The second significant software update, if you must know, is a new Google Maps configuration. The only scooter in the world right now with Google-powered onboard navigation is the Ather. The redesigned UI of AtherStack 5.0 now includes vector maps, providing you a similar experience to using Google Maps on your smartphone. The most recent version of Google Maps offers real-time traffic and a navigation mode that displays the viewpoint of the rider.

The other significant feature upgrade is Auto hold, Ather's take on Hill Hold, which use sensors and algorithms to stop the scooter even when the slope is extremely steep. Ather also introduced Battery Protect, a feature that increases the battery's warranty to 5 years/60,000 kilometres. Battery Protect provides breakdown coverage and a minimum 5-year battery health guarantee of 70%.

The 450X now includes Battery Protect as standard (3 + 2 years), while 450 Plus users may get a second 2-year warranty for for Rs 6,999. In addition, Ather has added four new hues to its line of scooters: True Red, Cosmic Black (which draws inspiration from the Ather Series 1 Limited Edition), Salt Green (which takes the place of Green), and Lunar Grey. White and Space Gray continue to be the other 2 colour choices.

Ather listened to its customers and developed a new seat that is narrower in the front, flat in the middle, steeper in the back, and has a thicker throughput. The seat is backwards compatible with all 450 generations. Finally, Ather introduced neighborhood charging, which gives users access to shared private space charging points like apartment complexes and office buildings and can be used to charge any EV at a rate of 3.3 kW.

Ather Energy also announced that it will increase its grid points to 1300 by March 2023. In fact, the brand has taken into account the difficulties that EV owners living in high-altitude communities face when charging their scooters. According to the company, their new Private Space charging points will be the most beneficial to them. Furthermore, the creators claim that they are compatible with all types of EVs, not just Ather scooters.
