TATA Tiago EV; The cheapest electric car of india : 2022, Price, Mileage, Colour and Features

Tata Motors has launched its smallest electric vehicle, the Tiago, in the Indian market.  Positioned below the Tigor EV, the Tata Tiago EV is the most affordable electric passenger vehicle in the country.  The new Tata Tiago Electric has been launched at a special starting price of Rs 8.49 lakh.

Design features:

The design of the Tata Tiago electric model is similar to the current ICE-powered model.  However, Tata has made some special design elements for the new vehicle.  The new model comes with blue accents on the front grille and around the fog lamp housing.  The hatchback gets a gloss black blanketed-off grille with tri-arrow pattern, EV badging and projector headlamps.

Battery and power:

The new Tiago Electric shares the platform with the Tigor EV and comes with a Ziptron powertrain.  It is offered with two battery packs, 24kWh and 19.2kWh.  While the former claims to offer a certified range of 315 km, the latter offers a range of 250 km on a single charge.  The long-range version offers 55kW or 74bhp of power and 115Nm of torque.  The limited range version delivers 45kW or 60bhp of power and 105Nm of torque.

Tata claims that the vehicle will accelerate from zero to 60 kmph in just 5.7 seconds.  The company offers a warranty of 8 years and 1.6 lakh kilometers for the battery pack.  It also comes with 4 charging options – a standard 15A home charger, a 3.3kW AC charger, a 7.2kW AC home charger and a DC fast charger.  The battery can be fully charged in 3 hours and 36 minutes using the 7.2kW AC charger.  The battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in 57 minutes using the DC fast charger.

Additional features:

The new model comes with features like sports mode, connected car tech, leatherette seats, fully automatic AC, cooled glovebox and i-TPMS.  The new Tata Tiago EV comes with multi-mode regen, cruise control, fast charging technology and Zed Connect features.  Most of the features are shared with the current model.  Rear defogger, rear parking camera, multi-functional steering wheel, electrically adjustable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, voice commands, height-adjustable driver's seat, Apple CarPlay, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto support, eight-speaker Harman-sourced music  There are also systems.

The reservation window for Tiago EV will open from October 10.  Tata Motors says the offer is valid only for the first 10,000 bookings.  Deliveries of the Tiago EV will begin from January next year.  Also, 2,000 of the first 10,000 bookings are reserved for existing customers of Tata EV passenger vehicles.
