Hero MotoCorp, the world's largest two-wheeler manufacturing company, has finally entered the electric two-wheeler market with their new sub-brand, Vida. The company launched its first electric scooter V1 yesterday. It will be sold in two variants, V1 Pro and V1 Plus. The Vida V1 will be introduced in the country's markets in a phased manner. It will initially be available in Delhi, Jaipur and Bengaluru. Vida scooters will start delivery in the first week of December. Here's everything you need to know about the new electric scooter.
Vida V1 performance
Vida V1 Pro and V1 Plus come with the same electric motor. It is capable of producing a peak power output of six kW and a continuous power output of 3.9 kW. The maximum speed of both the scooters is 80 kmph.
The V1 Plus can accelerate from zero to 40 kmph in 3.4 seconds. Whereas the V1 Pro can accelerate from standstill to 40 kmph in 3.2 seconds. Both the scooters come with four riding modes. They are Sport, Ride, Eco and Custom. With the custom mode, the rider can set himself the response of brake regeneration, performance, etc.
Vida V1 range
The battery pack in both the scooters is different. But both are IP68 rated. And comes with a warranty of three years or 30,000 km. The V1 Pro gets a 3.94 kWh pack that gives it a range of 165 km. The V1 Plus gets a small 3.9 kWh battery pack with a range of 143 km.
Vida also offers a limp home feature. Scooters can be driven at a speed of around 8 kmph to 10 kmph if the SOC falls below the predetermined limit.
Charging time
The charging time of battery packs depends on the type of charger used. With a fast charger, both scooters can be charged from zero to 80 percent at a rate of 1.2 km per minute.
The Vida V1 Pro takes 5 hours and 55 minutes to charge from 0-80 percent using a home charger. The V1 Plus can be charged from zero to 80 percent in 5 hours and 15 minutes.
Features
Vida offers many features with both the scooters. It has a OTA-enabled seven-inch touchscreen TFT display. Therefore, Vida can fix bugs and add more features in the future. It has 4G, Bluetooth, cloud connected features and Wi-Fi onboard.
Other features on offer include turn-by-turn navigation, cruise control, electronic seat, handle lock, keyless entry, follow-me-home lights, LED lighting, reverse, regen assist two-way throttle and more.
Price
The Vida V1 Plus is priced at Rs 1.45 lakh ex-showroom and the Vida V1 Pro is priced at Rs 1.59 lakh ex-showroom.
