 Bajaj auto re-entered the scooter segment by introducing a new electric version of chetak scooter available at starting price of ₹ 1,42,297. It is available in 2 variants :- Urbane and Premium. The urbane model comes with a front drum brake whereas the premium model comes with front disc. aside from this the differences are minimal.

Design

Sheet metal body panels are used in chetak , which offers a premium touch. The chetak steel frames and the body panels ensure high quality and durability.

Bajaj chetak comes with a 50.4 V 60.4 battery and claims to provide range of 90 km in the eco mode. The chetak comes with 3 ride modes:- Eco and Sport, and 1 reverse The chetak has no belts or chain, and it comes with solid gear drive, compact design and transmission gives a smooth jerk free riding experience. Thus it gets a longer life and better riding experience.

Lights

The chetak gets an eye catching LED headlamp, designed in the shape of a horseshoe which gives good visibility, range and focus. the chetak has sequential LED blinkers which is similar to premium segment cars lighting. 

Powertrain and Battery

The new chetak is equipped with an electric motor which produce the power from a 3 KWh IP67rated lithium ion battery. The power rating of chetak motors is 4KW (peak) and 3.8 KW (continuous) with 16 NM of peak torque. The chetak - lithium ion battery is designed to last for 70000 KM and the company offer a warranty of 3 years or 50000 KM.
