Experience the Future: MG Comet EV - Affordable, Innovative, and Stylish Electric Car

The MG Comet EV was introduced by MG Motor India in the Indian market, with an initial price of Rs 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom). The GSEV platform-based electric vehicle (EV) is MG Motor India's second entry into the electric vehicle market.

With five color options—Apple Green with Black Roof, Aurora Silver, Starry Black, Candy White, and Candy White with Black Roof—the MG Comet EV gives customers a variety of options. The MG Comet EV has dimensions of 2,974mm in length, 1,505mm in width, 1,631mm in height, and 2,010mm in wheelbase. The car's BICO (Big Inside, Compact Outside) design philosophy produces a sleek technological body with LED headlamps, taillamps, DRLs, and aero-craft interior windows in the second row. It has striking LED strips across the front and back and sits on 12-inch alloy wheels.

The interior of the MG Comet EV is large, with a 4-seater arrangement and changeable settings for the second row. A futuristic two-spoke steering wheel with pod-like controls, a center console with twin 10.25-inch screens for infotainment and the instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, motorized window controls, and a 12-Volt charging port are among the features of the vehicle.

The MG Comet EV has the iSmart system, which has over 100 voice commands and 55+ connected car features. Additionally, it provides ground-breaking functions including the smart start system and a digital Bluetooth Key that can be shared by up to two people. It also features a passenger seat that slides and reclines with just one touch. For a personalized driving experience, the MG Comet EV provides three drive modes and three KERS modes.

The MG Comet EV has a 17.3 KWh battery under the hood that provides an ARAI-certified range of about 230 kilometres on a single charge. The single PMS motor produces a maximum torque of 110 Nm and peak power of 41.4 hp. A 3.3 kW charger needs about 7 hours to fully charge the battery or 5 hours to charge it to 80% of its capacity.

The cost of charging an electric vehicle is estimated by MG to be Rs 519 every 1,000 kilometers, though this may change depending on electricity prices. With equipment like dual front airbags, ABS + EBD, front and rear three-point seat belts, a rear parking camera and sensors, TPMS (Indirect), and ISOFIX child seat arrangements, the MG Comet EV places a high priority on safety.

MG has also released two special editions of the Comet EV: the Gamer Edition and the LIT Edition. These limited editions provide extensive customizing options, such as 250+ decal and graphic variations, allowing purchasers to customise their EV to their specific preferences.
