The brand-new Kratos electric bike has been introduced in India by startup Torque Motorcycles, based in Pune. The new battery-operated motorcycle costs Rs. 1.37 lakh ex-showroom. (including subsidy). The bike has reportedly been released in two versions: Kratos and Kratos R.
A 4 Kwh lithium-ion battery pack with a system voltage of 48V and an IP67 rating is provided for the motorcycle. It provides a 180 km IDC range. The actual range is 120 kilometres. This bike has a top speed of 100 km/h. It receives an axial flux type electric motor with a maximum power of 7.5 Kw and a peak torque output of 28 Nm. According to the firm, it accelerates from 0 to 40 kmph in just 3.5 seconds. In comparison to the base model, the higher-spec Kratos R has a motor that produces 9.0 Kw/38 Nm and a top speed of 105 kmph
Fast charging and a few other connection capabilities, including Geofencing, the Find My Vehicle function, Motor walk Assist, Crash Alert, Vacation Mode, Track Mode Analysis, and Smart Charge Analysis, are exclusively available on the Kratos R Motorcycle. The higher-spec variant is offered in a variety of colors, including white, blue, red, and black, whereas the regular model is only offered in a single white colour option.
Following extensive research, the company claims to have spent six years testing and developing the new Kratos EV. The EV manufacturer claims that its Kratos electric bike has received significant upgrades and has been completely redesigned from the inside. The company changed the frame, ergonomics, features, and even the battery pack.
Torque's Kratos electric bike comes with TIROS, the company's in-house home-built operating system. Aside from that, Torque's in-house developed battery and axial flux motor will power the motorcycle. It will be entirely manufactured in India. According to reports, its performance is comparable to existing 150cc-160cc sports commuter motorcycles in India.
